Spring Has Come To The Farm

We’ve been busy planting in soil blocks (onions, shallots, broccoli, and cauliflower) and in the greenhouses (hakurei turnips, carrots, radishes, chard, kale, sugar snap peas, cabbage, salad greens, and pac choi).  The potatoes are greensprouting and will be planted in the greenhouse next weekend.

In the next two weeks we’ll be planting the Hoophouse with more pac choi and spinach and then the Cold Frame with Asian Greens.  We’ll put out more carrots and rutabagas in the Raised Beds this month.

We’re applying for a Specialty Crop Grant for two more hoophouses (17′ x 72′).  We will use these hoophouses to grow Salad Greens primarily for Restaurants.

We’re looking forward to participating in LocalFest 2012.  The first Farmers Market will be held on Saturday, May 26th at the Pinedale Library for LocalFest. There will be many presentations and workshops.

We’re excited that the Pinedale Farmers Market will be held in the County Greenspace on Main Street across from Wells Fargo this summer!

CSA Veggie Shares are still available.  If you are interested, please email maggiepalmer@wyoming.com for prices and payment plans available.  Hog Shares are now available.  We will only order pre-paid Hog Shares.

We have ordered 25 Turkeys and will be starting a Pastured Poultry program on a limited basis in 2012.

It’s exciting to have a new season in front of us! Yippee!
